If you’re a homeowner in Concord thinking about building an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU), there’s great news. The City of Concord is offering a powerful combo: free, pre-approved ADU building plans and rebates of up to $15,000 to help cover construction costs.
Pre-Approved Plans Available
Choose from six professionally designed, permit-ready ADU plans:
- Plan 1: 205 sq ft – Efficiency Studio
- Plan 2: 394 sq ft – Studio
- Plan 3: 627 sq ft – 1 Bedroom
- Plan 4: 650 sq ft – 1 Bedroom
- Plan 5: 709 sq ft – 1 Bedroom
- Plan 6: 847 sq ft – 2 Bedroom
These plans are free to download and help you skip the costly and time-consuming design and plan check process.

ADU Rebate Amounts
You may also qualify for a rebate based on the size of your ADU:

No rebates for ADUs over 1,000 sq ft.
To qualify:
- Permit must be pulled within 6 months of rebate application
- ADU must be completed within 18 months
- Low-income option requires a 20-year deed restriction limiting rent based on income
- Rebates are first-come, first-served and must be applied for before September 30, 2026
